In recent years, institutions have become increasingly interested in the evaluation of public policies. This decision-support tool, which aims to measure the effects of a public policy on the audiences concerned, is expected to play an increasing role in a context of rationalization of public action and state reform.
Recently, the European Commission wanted to orient its control of the actions carried out by means of impact studies and no longer only in an accounting approach.
In Hauts-de-France, the evaluation of public policies is a strong focus of the State – Region plan contract, reinforced by the health crisis, with the France Relance plan.
Both at national and regional level, new players are positioning themselves in these niches, in the academic fields, private sectors, administrations, etc.
On Tuesday, May 18, Véronique Flambard participated in this meeting and presented a research paper on the example of the evaluation of housing assistance policies.
