Camille Massié will participate in a conference at the University of Manchester from 20 to 23 June: “Energy and Climate Transformations: 3rd International Conference on Energy Research & Social Science”.

Camille will present a poster paper: “Residential energy efficiency behavior in France: the role of environmental concerns and energy context perception”.

This paper studies the behavioural barriers to energy efficiency investments in the French residential sector, with a particular focus on the role of environmental concerns and energy context perception. Based on an original survey conducted in 2018, including information on 3,000 French homeowners, a nested Logit model is developed to study the determinants of energy renovation behaviour. Overall, the results have important implications for policy makers as they highlight the need to reduce the risk incurred by households in order to promote their investments in energy efficiency, for a decarbonised economy.
