On May 20-21 2021, the 3rd international Smart & Sustainable Cities conference was held, organized by the FGES research unit and moderated by Fateh Belaïd.
This conference was an opportunity for a hundred participants from twelve countries to come together around questions of energy transition and the role of smart and sustainable cities.
Energy renovation in the residential sector (Pr. Matthieu Glachant from Ecole des Mines – ParisTech), decarbonisation of transport (Pr. Stef Proost from KU Leuven), the advances proposed by smart cities and their financing (Pr. Isam Shahrour of the University of Lille) and twelve thematic sessions around the environment, innovations, energy and mobility allowed very constructive exchanges between the participants, all in a pleasant atmosphere conducive to work.
