Artificial intelligence, planning and reinforcement learning, human machine interaction.

Abir Karami is a teacher-researcher in Computer Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI). She obtained her thesis in 2011 on Markov decision models for human-robot interaction. Since then, she has been working on research topics around human-centered intelligent systems (intelligent habitats, companion robots, serious games, recommendation). Through her work, she contributes in the following areas: decision making under uncertainty and behavioural modelling from interaction traces using reinforcement learning and semi-supervised learning. She publishes in conferences and journals in AI and Human Machine Interaction. Abir Karami teaches computer science and AI to various audiences (bachelor, master, continuing education and work-study). She practices the agile project-based pedagogy and contributes to the evaluation and evolution of this pedagogical method.
