Hervé Barry has been with the Université Catholique since 1994. A sociologist by training, he first conducted studies and research in the fields of Housing and Social Policies within the CRESGE, focusing on a strategic analysis to understand the issues. Then, still within a changing CRESGE, he moved on to the sociology of energy, which has become his main field of study and research. Today, Hervé Barry is attached to the Explorers of Transition Chair, which is part of the FGES. He is one of the leaders in the consideration of the human factor in the conversion to a less energy consuming and more environmentally friendly way of life.
