On 19 November, Camille Massié took part in the 8th edition of the PhD days of the University of Le Havre Normandie, which focused on the analysis of public policies.
Camille was pleased to present an article co-written with Fateh Bélaïd as part of her thesis, which focuses on energy renovation in France and more specifically on the roles of perception of the energy context and pro-environmental behaviour.

“By exploiting a database containing rich information on 3,000 French homeowners, we are developing a nested Logit* model to study the determinants of energy renovation behaviour. There is empirical evidence that homeowners who adopt pro-environmental behaviours are significantly more likely to renovate their homes. Consistent with the literature, our results also indicate that risk aversion decreases the likelihood of households investing in energy efficiency solutions. Finally, it is shown that the socio-demographic characteristics of households and the technical characteristics of their housing also have an impact on their energy renovation behaviour. Overall, this article has implications for policy makers and underlines the need to reduce the risk to households in order to encourage investments in energy efficiency.”
