In 2010, Jalal graduated in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) in Lebanon. He has worked for more than 10 years as a computer systems engineer and consultant for major infrastructure. At the same time, he became a professor at Saint Joseph University in Beirut.

He started a PhD in “Automatic, Productive, Signal and Image, Cognitive Engineering” at the end of 2016, which he supported 3 years later, at the University of Bordeaux.

During his first post-doctoral fellowship at York University in Canada, Jalal was commissioned on a virtual reality project to do distributed modelling and simulation using officers from the surgical department of Toronto’s Humber River Hospital. Jalal then joins the ITM Nord-Europe for a second post-doctorate where he is involved in the ORIO project (Observing the peRformances of urban Infrastructures and mobility / preventing collisions with vulnerable people using Opportunistic radar) which aims to reliably detect and interpret roads, vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians, etc. Using LiDAR sensors, cameras, and radar.

Jalal joined the FGES on September 1 as a teacher-researcher in computer science. He works for the Masters DATA & Artificial Intelligence, International Management and the SDN and TG2D Licence.
